The refurbishment by Ceredigion Council of Ysgol Pontrhydfendigaid was undertaken to create new and welcoming entrances for the younger school children. Many safety features were built into the project to enhance their school experience, such as larger bar handles for easier grip when opening, restrictor hinges to the windows and tinted glazing to minimise the sun’s glare in the classrooms.
Fentrade worked with the contractor to deliver products that were safe, functional and would enhance the appearance of the school. By utilising non-standard profiles such as a dedicated curtain walling outerframe the windows were manufactured in a way that not only minimised installation time on site but also created a watertight seal. Specifications were discussed and agreed at the estimating stage to ensure the requirements of the council were met and for a smoother ordering process.
