Fentrade Aluminium has recently manufactured and supplied a range of commercial products for a renovation project at Ysgol Pontrhydfendigaid School in Ystrad Meurig, near Aberystwyth. The project involved creating new entrance screens into the main building and various classrooms to improve the school environment for the children.
The various screens were manufactured using a mixture of low-rise Kestrel Aluminium curtain walling, thermally broken commercial entrance doors and incorporating ALUK 58BW casement windows inset within the curtain wall. Working closely with main contractor LEB Construction, Fentrade Aluminium were able to meet the required specification and exacting standards the project demanded.
Attention to detail and overall product safety was critical for the safety of the children. As such, the entrance doors featured large pole handles for ease of use and the casement windows were fitted with restrictor hinges to minimise the opening and thereby lessen the chances of anyone accidently running into the open vent. Suncool Pro-T solar control glass featuring manifestation further added to the children’s comfort and safety.
The project ran smoothly and the attention to detail was evident throughout the project. Chris Reeks, Director at Fentrade, said: “By incorporating the ALUK AW625 dedicated curtain wall outerframe into the casement design, the windows were glazed easily and effectively into the curtain wall structure to ensure a watertight seal and reduce installation time on site.”
Award-winning Fentrade liaised closely with the contractor throughout the design process to ensure the high standards the project demanded were met at every stage.
Chris concluded “We are delighted to have played such a central role in improving the school facilities for the next generation of children.”
